Former Green Bay Packers 3rd Round Pick Goes Viral For Mercilessly Beating Up A Motorist (VIDEO) – Gridiron Heroics

Back in 2003, the Green Bay Packers knew that one of their best players, defensive tackle Gilbert Brown, was nearing the end of his career. As they do now, the Packers did not wait to draft his possible replacement, hoping that a year of development in a limited role would help prepare him for becoming the regular starter.

And so, Green Bay used their third round pick (79th overall) on Ohio State‘s Kenny Peterson. As a senior, Peterson was named Second Team All-Big Ten and helped the Buckeyes win the National Championship. During his tenure at Ohio State, he racked up 84 tackles, 12 sacks, one interception, and three forced fumbles.

Peterson spent the first three seasons of his NFL career in Green Bay, playing a total of 34 games. He did not, however, become the starter that the Packers may have hoped he would.

After appearing in nine games in each of his first two seasons, though, Peterson had the best year of his career in 2005. Playing in 16 games that season, he recorded 24 tackles, 3.0 sacks, three passes defended, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

After that season, though, Green Bay released Peterson. He subsequently signed with the Denver Broncos, with whom he spent the remaining four years of his career.

In 2007, he was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league’s steroid policy.

Peterson finished his NFL career with 118 total tackles and 8.0 sacks.

Since retiring from the NFL, Peterson has been living in relative anonymity. However, he went viral on Thursday when a video of him repeatedly punching a motorist driving a van was posted online:

According to multiple reports, the van driver spit on Peterson, which prompted him to take action. As one can see in the video above, it certainly seems like the former Packers defensive tackle got the upper hand in the altercation.
