Christian Barmore provides amusing assessment of the Patriots defense
FOXBOROUGH – The Patriots spent a ton of money to give the defense a facelift.
Most notably, they signed top free agent defensive lineman Milton Wilson. They also added defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga, defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson and edge rusher Harold Landry.

And that’s just the line. Mike Vrabel addressed all three layers of the defense adding at linebacker (Robert Spillane, Jack Gibbens), and defensive back (Carlton Davis, Marcus Epps) in free agency alone.
All of the moves – including those made in the draft – put a huge smile on Christian Barmore’s face.
“I’m really excited,” Barmore said Thursday when asked about the prospects of the defense as a whole, as well as defensive line. “We got some hungry dogs, literally … and just how it’s looking … it’s gonna be good.
“I just love the defense.”
Last year, the Patriots were last in sacks, 22nd in points allowed, which was worst ranking since 1995 when they were 25th.
