HOT NEWS!!! Green Bay Packers Coach Sends Huge Message on Former 7th-Round Pick

Kalen King, Green Bay Packers

At this point, the Green Bay Packers have a questionable outlook at the cornerback position. The future is uncertain when it comes to veteran star Jaire Alexander.

He could be back for another year or the Packers might choose to cut ties with him and move on.

Should the team move on from Alexander, there would be a massive question mark at the position.

Behind Alexander on the depth chart are Nate Hobbs, Keisean Nixon, Carrington Valentine, Micah Robinson, and Kalen King.

Those names aren’t bad, but they aren’t necessarily top-tier starters either.

That being said, one Green Bay coach has spoken out and sent a bold message about a former seventh-round pick and his potential to make a huge impact at cornerback in 2025.

Green Bay Packers Coach Sends Huge Message on Former 7th-Round Pick

In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Packers decided to bring in former Penn State standout cornerback Kalen King in the seventh round with the No. 255 overall pick.

King had a really good college career, but he didn’t play a role for Green Bay as a rookie.

During his second college football season with the Nittany Lions, King racked up 30 total tackles, a forced fumble, three interceptions, and 15 defended passes. He was expected to become a successful NFL cornerback. Now, he may have the opportunity to do so.

As shared by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, Packers’ passing game coordinator Derrick Ansley spoke out about King and offered an eye-opening take on the young defensive back.

“I don’t wanna speak too soon — knock on wood — but he’s looking really good out there.”

Obviously, King will have to prove his worth on the field. Looking good in the offseason is not the same as being ready to play during the regular season.

However, this is very good news for a team that could use another cornerback to step up. Green Bay might have the answer to their defensive secondary question already on the roster.
