The Dallas Cowboys will take on some notable rookies this season.
The Dallas Cowboys have a rookie draft class that we are all excited about. Maybe your favorite pick is Shavon Revel or Donovan Ezeiruaku, perhaps you are in on the idea of Jaydon Blue leading the team in rushing this season. Oh, Tyler Booker is a thing as well.
We have given a lot of rightful attention and hype to the Cowboys rookies over the last few weeks, but that same spirit of optimism is flowing across every team in the NFL (for the most part) if we are being honest. That is life following the NFL draft.
The NFL schedule will officially be released on Tuesday and when it is we will know exactly when the Cowboys are going to play all of their games, but obviously we already know who they will be facing.
Today we are going to take a look at some of the notable rookies on the docket.
10 notable rookies who the Dallas Cowboys will face in 2025
When it comes to rookies the Cowboys will face this coming season the headliners are coming out of the New York Giants.
Carter is going to make life difficult for the Cowboys offense and he has some draft-mates who are going to try to lift the other side of the ball.
Time will tell when quarterback Jaxson Dart will get involved, but when he does he will certainly be a name to watch. College football fans are also likely not overly-excited about Dallas having to deal with Arizona State legend Cam Skattebo. That’s three names on one team who the Cowboys will have to see twice a year, again the Dart thing as a bit of a we’ll-see proposition.
As far as the next-highest pick who the Cowboys will face in 2025 it will be a name who many wanted to see wear a star on his helmet in Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashtony Jeanty. The whole league is going to be watching to see how he fares and if the 2025 Cowboys defense is anything like the 2024 version (please no) then it will be a long day.
Shortly after the Raiders took Jeanty the Carolina Panthers broke the hearts of many Cowboys fans by selecting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Two picks later the Chicago Bears called Colston Loveland’s name. Consider that Dallas will visit both Carolina and Chicago in 2025. It would be the worst kind of irony for them to have huge games.
Obviously the Philadelphia Eagles had a great draft and came away with Jihaad Campbell at the end of the first round. He will present another challenge for the offensive front.
Recall that at one point in time NFL draft analysts were mocking North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton to the Cowboys. The Los Angeles Chargers ultimately took him and they will visit AT&T Stadium at some point this coming season.
Also visiting AT&T will be the Green Bay Packers who hosted the NFL draft. They will be bringing someone who the state knows well in former Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden, someone else many Cowboys fans wanted the team to take.
One of the bigger challenges that Dallas has faced over the years from a philosophical standpoint has been dominant interior linemen and the Arizona Cardinals will be bringing another in Walter Nolen. That will be… not fun.
Needless to say these are all rookies and not NFL superstars. But it stands to reason that one, or multiple of them, will have a nice showing.
