Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has provided an update on outfielder Teoscar Hernandez, who exited Monday’s game with an injury.
Roberts said Hernández’s injury is “a little concerning.” Roberts added Hernández will go for an MRI on Tuesday after feeling tightness in his hamstring and adductor.
Hernández has been off to a hot start this season as he is already batting .315 with an OPS of .933, adding nine dingers and 34 RBIs.
While the Dodgers are currently playing the 13-win Marlins, the following series is a four-game set against the divisional rival Arizona Diamondbacks to close out a 10-game road trip.
The Dodgers will hope the MRI doesn’t reveal anything too significant, and Hernández will be able to return to the field sooner rather than later.
Roberts said the team will bring someone to Miami on the taxi squad, and potentially activate them if Hernández is forced to go on the injured list. That decision will be made Tuesday.
