Tom Brady has delivered his thoughts on former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s return to football at collegiate level.
Belichick, who coach Brady and Co. to six Super Bowl titles in New England, has been away from the sidelines since he and the Patriots parted ways in January after 24 seasons.
However, speculation intensified over the legendary coach’s future this week when it was revealed that he had interviewed with University of North Carolina over the school’s head coaching position.
The 72-year-old has never coached at the college level and his former quarterback didn’t offer much optimism on Belichick’s chances.
While appearing on FOX’s pregame coverage alongside former New England Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman, Brady offered a brutal take on Belichick’s potential future in collegiate football.
‘No,’ he emphatically responded when asked if he could imagine his former coach at the helm of a college team.
‘There’s a lot of things he can do, and obviously he’s tremendous, and even showing his personality. But getting out there on the recruiting trail and dealing with all these college kids, that would be…’
Gronkowski and Edelman echoed their former teammate’s claim, insisting they struggled to imagine Belichick juggling the contrast of duties from the NFL to collegiate level.
‘Can you imagine NIL, and all that nonsense?’ Gronkowski chimed in before Edelman added: ‘Can you imagine bill on a couch recruiting an 18-year-old?’
Brady also seized the chance to mock his longtime coach, impersonating Belichick’s recruitment of a high school player to his program.
‘Listen, do you really want to come here? I mean we don’t really want you anyway, but I guess you could come, we’ll figure out if you play,’ he said, sending the FOX panel into a fit of laughter.

On Friday, it was claimed that Belichick had met with North Carolina officials in Manhattan for a second interview, just days after bombshell reports claimed he had spoken to the school.
According to CBS Sports, Belichick held more talks with the school on Thursday, the same day he hit the red carpet with his 24-year-old girlfriend at the American Museum of Natural History gala in New York.

The Tar Heels are one of a number of teams who have been linked with a move for Belichick since he left the Patriots. CBS claims the 72-year-old he has ‘been open’ to opportunities.
ESPN, meanwhile, reports that Belichick has ‘seriously considered’ the North Carolina job – even if his appointment remains ‘unlikely’.
Belichick won six Super Bowls as Patriots head coach and he reportedly blew UNC officials away when they spoke.
The Tar Heels, who went 6-6 this season, recently fired Mack Brown – who had won more games than any other UNC head coach.
Since leaving the Patriots, Belichick has been working as an analyst on the likes of ‘The Pat McAfee Show, ‘ManningCast’ and ‘Inside the NFL’.
