The Dallas Cowboys‘ 2025 rookie class went through their paces at The Star on Friday as they get accustomed to their new surroundings.
One of which was the first-round pick, guard Tyler Booker.
The Alabama stud made waves for his leadership comments after he was drafted and made it known he is here to help push everyone else along.
While that might be a little hard to do from Day 1 with veterans like Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb, Tyler took it upon himself to be the leader of the rookie class as they went about their first day of minicamp.
“Yeah, just to be the leader of this group, I take a lot of pride in that,” Booker said. “I’m just a natural-born leader, so my fellow rookies, I’m excited to continue to learn and grow with them, and we had a great day.”
So Booker talked the talk, and now, on what was his first official day, he was walking the walk.
With a key emphasis on running the football under new head coach/play-caller Brian Schottenheimer, Booker looms as a key piece to that, and with the offensive line to be the tone-setters for the offense, Tyler knows exactly how to do that.
The life of a rookie is taking each day as it comes in the hope of making the team, but in Booker’s case, he’s here to make a statement and prove he can be the player Dallas needs.
All offseason, Schottenheimer has prioritized getting the right characters in the building, with leadership a key trait, and it’s only taken one day to see that Booker exemplifies exactly what Schottenheimer wants.
Someone who takes others and pushes them to greater heights, and Tyler is already beginning to show that he is a player who others can and will follow.
