Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons is looking for a new deal ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie contract and feels that he deserves to be one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL.
The former Harrisburg High and Penn State star followed along last year as Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott landed a new contract from Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

Parsons recently shared what he learned from watching Prescott’s negotiations. Prescott ended up signing a four-year, $240 million deal.
“Yea man, just staying out the way,“ Micah Parsons said. ”For me, I just keep working out, keep grinding, keep pushing forward, doing what I’m doing and sit patiently so I’m ready to play football come July.”
Parsons would like to have a new contract completed before training camp, although it remains to be seen if that timeline fits the timeline of Jerry Jones.
But as Parsons said, he doesn’t want to be too involved in negotiations and will instead let his agent David Mulugheta do his job.
Jones said a few weeks back that he would prefer to negotiate with Parsons directly, according to NFL.com, but Parsons has made it clear that he wants Mulugheta to be involved.
“David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without David Mulugheta involved!” Parsons posted on Twitter. “Like anyone with good sense I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David!”
Parsons was asked recently about the dynamic between Jerry Jones and David Mulugheta. He revealed that he has a good relationship with both the Cowboys owner and his agent and doesn’t want to be involved in any beef those two might have.
“Yea, you know, obviously I know Jerry always comes from a good place. I think overall Jerry’s one of the better people I know, and also my agent’s one of the better people I know,” Micah Parsons said. “So, you know, I don’t really try to get – it’s like when your brother and sister are arguing. You don’t really step in the middle or choose sides. You just try to say, ‘Hey, they’re coming from this perspective. You’re coming from this perspective.’ And just kind of let it be. There’s no hard feelings there at all.”
Parsons is unsure if Mulugheta and Jones have talked recently, but either way he trusts that a deal can be worked out.
“I have no knowledge whether they’ve talked or whatever. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t wanna update me on every inch of the way, what goes on,” Parsons said. “But he’ll probably call me when it’s done.”
