GREEN BAY, Wis. — For the fifth time in his last six drafts, general manager Brian Gutekunst has drafted at least two offensive linemen.
The Green Bay Packers concluded their 2025 draft class with the selection of Cincinnati’s John Williams at No. 250 overall.
Williams, who just turned 22 in January, stands at 6’5″ and 320 pounds. He has extensive experience at left tackle, serving as the Bearcats’ starter for his last two seasons with the program.

After drafting Anthony Belton at No. 54 overall, the Packers are already going to have a three-way competition for the starting job between Belton, Rasheed Walker and Jordan Morgan, last year’s first-round pick.
Walker has spent each of the last two seasons as the Packers’ starter, so he’ll have some competition to fend off in what will be the last year of his rookie deal.
It’s becoming evident that the Packers are going to allow either one of Walker or Sean Rhyan to enter unrestricted free agency next spring—or both.
A redshirt freshman, Williams didn’t find himself in the Bearcats’ lineup unti his junior season.
In his 874 pass-blocking snaps since, he’s allowed just three sacks and 22 pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. If grades are your thing, he earned the highest pass-blocking grade on the team last season.
Williams was one of the few prospects remaining that had a pre-draft visit with the Packers.
He has a Relative Athletic Score of 7.60 after running the 40-yard dash in 5.17 seconds, the three-cone drill in 7.93 seconds and the 20-yard shuttle in 4.72 seconds.
He also finished with 29 repetitions on the bench press. There’s a good chance that he’ll be kicked inside to one of the Packers’ guard spots, allowing him to compete there for a roster spot.
The starting five, for the most part, appears to be set after the Packers dished out a lucrative free-agent contract to Aaron Banks, their new left guard.
