The Dallas Cowboys drafted ECU cornerback Shavon Revel with the No. 76 pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Recovering from injury Revel tore his ACL in practice in September before declaring for the NFL Draft the following month.
Revel had been ranked as the second-best cornerback in the 2025 NFL Draft at one point by ESPN’s Mel Kiper.
All league honors Revel was Second-Team All-AAC for the Pirates in the 2023 season after finishing the season with 55 tackles with a sack and an interception.
How he got to ECU Revel was working in an Amazon Warehouse while attending Louisburg College because of his grades, when he saw a flyer for an East Carolina tryout camp, where he went and was offered a scholarship. Revel went on to star at ECU after raising his GPA.
Turned down six-figure deals After his all AAC season, Revel was sought after by multiple high-level programs who offered him six-figure NIL deals, which he turned down because he wanted to show loyalty to the Pirates for believing in him.
Serious car accident Revel was in a serious car accident when he was a sophomore in college, when his father blacked out and crashed into a wall.
Revel fractured his skull and broke his nose which ended his sophomore football season.
