Gomez has a 2.70 ERA across six appearances this season. He pitched 10 innings for the Yankees, allowing three earned runs with five hits and nine walks. He struck out five.
Gomez is a four-pitch pitcher, mainly using his four-seam fastball. He also mixes in a sweeper and a curveball, while minimally using a changeup. He stopped using a slider this year.
Gomez immediately gets added to the Dodgers 40-man roster. The official roster page on MLB.com lists him in the minors, which means he would likely start in Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Gomez made his MLB debut in 2023, pitching a two-inning scoreless outing. He then made five appearances in 2024, allowing five earned runs across 11.1 innings for a 3.97 ERA.
Overall, across 12 career appearances, Gomez had a 3.09 ERA over 23.1 innings pitched.
