EXCLUSIVE: Tetairoa McMillan all but confirms Packers’ worst-kept secret fans saw coming

Secrets, secrets, are no fun, unless the Packers are part of one.
Arizona State v Arizona

Here we are, yet again, talking about another potential Green Bay Packers wide receiver. You’d think that somewhere in the last 20 years that we’d have learned our lesson about Green Bay and their whole First Round Receiver bit, but nope, not the case. A broken clock is right twice a day, and our time is almost here.

Today’s subject? Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan. McMillan was widely considered one of, if not the best receiver prospect coming into his final year at Arizona, and then a slightly underwhelming season sorta ruined that.

Now that he’s no longer realistically considered a top-10 guy, a whole world of Packers possibilities has opened up.

He was even up in Green Bay for a workout recently, and had some intriguing things to say about the likelihood that he ends up in the NFC North.

The Tetairoa McMillan-Packers noise sure seems to be getting louder by the day

“They’ve been showing me nothing but love throughout this whole draft process,” he said. “If I’m fortunate enough to come over here, I know that I’m going to be in a facility, in an environment, that appreciates me for who I am and my abilities on the field. I’d be super blessed to be out here, for sure … I feel like I could fit in any offense well. But this one specifically, yeah.”

I earnestly love that whoever’s in charge of these Packers workouts wanted to blast Prince tunes so loud that the important (“important”) interviews were almost totally drowned out. In their defense – though it’s not like they need a defense in the first place – that’s the appropriate level of volume to play Prince.

McMillan’s flown under-the-radar as a Packers target throughout the last few months of the pre-draft process, but it probably shouldn’t be all that surprising to see him attached to Green Bay by now – he fits well as the type of wide receiver that the Packers need, and has settled in nicely among mock drafts as a late first-rounder.

Which, of course, means that Gutekunst will pick an edge-rusher on Thursday night.
