The 2025 NFL Draft is almost here. With the first round set to begin on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Green Bay Packers are scheduled to be on the clock with the No. 23 overall pick.
Which player could the Packers choose to select with that pick? Could they consider trading up or down? There are so many questions that need to be answered.
Despite all of the questions, Green Bay has quite a few routes it could choose to go. The team could use a wide receiver, a pass rusher, and a cornerback. There are other positions groups that could use more depth as well.
All of that being said, a Packers’ insider has spoken out with a huge prediction about what the team will do in the first round.
Green Bay Packers Insider Unveils Huge Prediction for 2025 NFL Draft
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, who covers the team, believes that Arizona Wildcats standout wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan will be the pick if he happens to fall to the No. 23 pick. However, he does not see that happening.
“I do think that if he were to happen to be there at 23, the streak would end,” said Demovsky. “I really believe that they would pick him from what I was told, but I just don’t think that’s realistic.”
McMillan has received a lot of interest from general manager Brian Gutekunst. The Green Bay general manager was the only NFL general manager at his pro day. He has also been brought to town for a pre-draft visit.
Adding a weapon like McMillan would be a great move to support young franchise quarterback for Jordan Love. If they like him enough, could the Packers consider trading up to get him?
During the 2024 college football season at Arizona, McMillan racked up 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns.
He acaught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns back in the 2023 season as well.
While it may not be incredibly likely that McMillan will end up in Green Bay, he’s a name to keep a very close eye on.
