Packers Dealt Awful News After Losing To Detroit Lions

The Green Bay Packers came up short in an opportunity to climb the NFC North hierarchy in Thursday night’s 34-31 heartbreaking loss to the Detroit Lions, and were dealt another significant loss on the injury front, as well.

Green Bay’s defense is already reeling from several marquee injuries, including veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander still unable to make his return after missing three consecutive games due to a knee injury and the secondary may be without another key contributor moving forward.

Safety Evan Williams was knocked from Thursday night’s game with a concussion, and even though the Packers have 10 days to prepare for their next game, in Seattle against the Seahawks, losing yet another defensive back would be a significant blow for coordinator Jeff Hafley’s unit.

The Packers turned to rookie Zayne Anderson, in Williams’ absence, who played well down the stretch on Thursday night.

However, Williams has been a stalwart on the back-end of the Packers’ defense, posting 45 tackles with one interception so far this season.
