GOOD NEWS: Blockbuster NFL Trade Rumor Could Be Great News For Patriots

The Patriots soon might have to worry about one less superstar in the AFC East.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Tuesday reported the Dolphins and Jalen Ramsey are “mutually set to explore trade options.”

The trusted league insider added that it “wouldn’t be a surprise” if the star cornerback, who’s owed $25.1 million this season, played outside of Miami in 2025.

The Fins trading Ramsey obviously would be welcomed by the Patriots, who are shaping up to be more competitive this season than in years past.

New England is poised to have a revamped offense under the direction of new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, and its pair of matchups with Miami undoubtedly would be made easier if Ramsey was not on the field.

As for potential landing spots for the seven-time Pro Bowl selection, Foxboro, Mass., probably ranks among the least likely.

New England already boasts an elite cornerback tandem with Christian Gonzalez and newcomer Carlton Davis III, who inked a three-year, $54 million deal in free agency. But even if the Patriots needed secondary help, the Dolphins probably wouldn’t been keen on helping a division foe improve.

In a perfect world for Mike Vrabel and company, Ramsey would join an NFC team ahead of Drake Maye’s pivotal sophomore season.
