Green Bay Packers Will Miss At Least 4 Key Players Vs. Detroit Lions, Per Final Injury Report

After some initial optimism about their statuses in the past few days, the Green Bay Packers have officially ruled out four players (from three) ahead of their Thursday Night Football game against the Detroit Lions.

The notable absences come primarily on the defensive side of the pitch, as Jaire Alexander (knee), Corey Ballentine (knee), and Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) are ruled out, with Ballentine being the latest scratch. Meanwhile, Romeo Doubs did not receive his clearance from concussion protocols.

Alexander will be inactive for a third consecutive game. The two-time Pro Bowler has played just 10 snaps over the past five weeks. Cooper hasn’t practiced since November 20 and will miss his third straight match, like Alexander. Ballentine sustained a knee injury during the Green Bay Packers Thanksgiving victory against the Miami Dolphins and has missed the entire week of practice,

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell looks on at a timeout against Green Bay Packers during the first half at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024.

The Detroit Lions have also ruled out four players ahead of Thursday Night Football, as Josh Paschal (knee), DJ Reader (shoulder), Taylor Decker (knee), and Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring) remain in the treatment room.

Dontayvion Wicks could be the x-factor for the Green Bay Packers

Dontayvion Wicks is expected to fill in for the concussed Romeo Doubs against the Detroit Lions, giving him a huge opportunity to improve his stats.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (13) finds a seam in the Arizona Cardinals defense during the first quarter of their game against the Arizona Cardinals Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The 23-year-old wide receiver had his highest percentage of offensive snaps against the Miami Dolphins (83 percent), catching four of his five passing targets for 30 receiving yards.

Wicks might see Thursday as a chance to get revenge for his lackluster outing in Week 9 when he didn’t catch any of his three targets in the Green Bay Packers’ 24-14 defeat. This season, he has 21 receptions for 247 yards and four touchdowns in 12 appearances.
