T.J. Watt made a strange post on his social media a few days ago, posing with a peace sign like Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill does.
Many have suggested that he could be traded over the next few weeks, and if it happens, the New England Patriots could be the ideal landing spot for him.
According to recent odds from BET Online, the Patriots are the favorite to land him if he’s dealt.
They currently have +300 odds, beating out the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles on the list.
Sporting News’ Aaliyan Mohammed believes he’d be a great fit, adding that New England is in a position to compete for a Super Bowl in the near future.
“The 2021 Defensive Player of the Year would instantly make the Patriots’ defense better.
Unlike the Steelers, the Patriots have a young Pro Bowl quarterback and are ready to compete right now,” he wrote.
Watt is as good as it gets regarding his skills getting to the quarterback.
He posted 11.5 sacks last season, which was a relatively down year for his standards, but has proven throughout his career that he’s capable of finishing with 15 plus sack seasons, evident by 2023 when he posted 19 and 2021 when he posted 22.5.
It’ll be interesting to see if he gets traded and what the package would look like.
A four-time All-Pro, Defensive Player of the Year Award winner, and much more, he hits free agency next off-season.
That could mean a trade package won’t be nearly as much as some have suggested.
Still, for a player of his caliber, it’s tough to see the Patriots not having to move a decent haul in this type of deal. Related: Patriots Host Florida St….
