The Green Bay Packers currently hold the No. 23 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which will begin on April 24. Brian Gutekunst and the front office will be meeting with some of the prospects ahead of the draft as they work to figure out who they should take.
In the first round, there are multiple positions that the Packers could target. They could use help at wide receiver, cornerback, and their pass rush.
Depending on what the team chooses to do with veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander, the need for a cornerback could be much less pressing. Should they bring him back for one more year, they won’t need to be extremely aggressive bringing in a top-tier talent if they choose to focus on other areas of need first.
That being said, if Alexander is released or traded, Green Bay will badly need another cornerback.
Keeping that in mind, the Packers are showing heavy interest in one intriguing prospect.
According to a report from Easton Butler of Packer Report, Green Bay will host a visit with Ole Miss cornerback Trey Amos on a Top 30 visit next week.
Amos would be a very intriguing addition to the Packers’ secondary. He has elite playmaking ability and could be an excellent long-term addition alongside Nate Hobbs.
During the 2024 college football season at Ole Miss, Amos racked up 50 total tackles to go along with a forced fumble, three interceptions, and 13 defended passes. Those numbers explain why Green Bay is so interested in him.
Standing in at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Amos has good size for an NFL cornerback. He possesses elite speed and athleticism as well.
Fans should keep a close eye on Amos as a potential first-round target. If the Packers choose to go defense, Amos could very well end up being the pick.
