With less than two weeks to go in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers are making their final preparations. Some of the key positions to watch for in the first round will be defensive line, wide receiver, and cornerback.

If the Packers did not draft a player from those positions, it would be a major shock to the fanbase. Many people were surprised to see the Packers draft an offensive line in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Will Green Bay surprise people once again in the first round in 2025?
Seven Round CBS Sports Mock Draft Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting a Wide Receiver In the First Round

CBS Sportswriter Chris Trapasso created a seven round mock draft before the 2025 NFL Draft. With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he has the Packers selecting wide receiver Emeka Egbuka from the Ohio State Buckeyes. Green Bay does need help at wide receiver.
Trapasso said,
“The Packers actually select a receiver in the first round. Imagine that. Egbuka can be productive outside or in the slot. He blocks well, and tracks like it like Christian Yelich downfield.”
Egbuka is 6’1″ and weighs 205 lbs. During the 2024 college football season with Ohio State, he caught 81 passes for 1,011 yards receiving, and 10 touchdowns, along with averaging 12.5 yards per reception. Egbuka also rushed for 33 yards on eight carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 4.1 yards per carry.
If he was drafted by the Packers, there is a chance that he could develop into the number one option for quarterback Jordan Love overtime. Despite being the number two option for Ohio State behind Jeremiah Smith, Egbuka can be a number one option at the next level. It would be a surprise if the Packers drafted a wide receiver in the first round because they rarely do it, but it is a position of need for them after all.
