Blake Snell’s trip to the 15-day injured list has demonstrated the fragility of MLB rosters. Even for a team with as many arms as the Los Angeles Dodgers, it sometimes takes just one injury to derail plans.
Justin Wrobleski and Landon Knack were recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City as spot starters this week, and while neither was particularly impressive, Knack has earned a stay on the Dodgers roster. For now.
The news comes from Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register:
Dave Roberts said Landon Knack will stay with #Dodgers and make another start next week, either Tues or Wed v Rockies

Dave Roberts said Landon Knack will stay with #Dodgers and make another start next week, either Tues or Wed v Rockies
Knack made his first start of the season Wednesday against the Washington Nationals and was roughed up for five runs (all earned) on four hits, one home run, and four walks over two and 1/3 innings while notching two strikeouts.
The 27-year-old had made a relief appearance in the Tokyo Series, and this was just his 13th career start in MLB. However, despite the underwhelming results, he has carved out a role on Los Angeles’ squad for the foreseeable future. Until the two-time Cy Young winner Snell can return, it appears that Knack will take his starts.
The Dodgers are not faced with nearly the same injuries that ravaged their starting rotation last year, and even if Knack turns it around in his next scheduled start, presumably against the Colorado Rockies, he likely will not remain in the Big Leagues for long.
One of the currently injured starters, Tony Gonsolin, recently made a rehab start and should rejoin the staff in whatever capacity necessary sooner rather than later. That’s not to mention Clayton Kershaw and Shohei Ohtani, who are not as close to a return to the mound but should pitch for Los Angeles this year.
