17 first-round prospects in 2025 draft who meet Packers’ athleticism and age preferences

When the Green Bay Packers are on the clock with their first-round pick two weeks from today, there will only be certain players they consider taking. Since general manager Brian Gutekunst took over in 2018, he has made nine picks in Round 1, and there have been a couple of consistent themes.

All nine have had a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of at least 8.35, and eight of the nine have been aged 22 or younger on draft day, with Devonte Wyatt (24) the only exception.

Using this information, a decent shortlist of who the Packers might take in 2025 can be formed.

Gutekunst has not taken a player in Round 1 who was ranked outside of the top 50 on the consensus big board. After removing the top 10 players, who are unlikely to fall to Green Bay, as well as any quarterbacks, here is the list of potential options left over, who are 22 years old or younger and have an RAS of 8.00 or higher:

While there are not many “perfect” prospects for the Packers in round one, it does not mean they will only be picking from that small pool. Like Wyatt, there can be exceptions.

Prior to 2024, Gutekunst had not drafted a first-round pick who skipped any athletic test whatsoever, before breaking the mold by taking Jordan Morgan, who did not complete the agility testing.

With a large number of first-round prospects having incomplete testing this year, or not fitting the exact mold of what the Packers like at a given position, Gutekunst is likely to break from his preferences in some way once again. The question will be: which of his principles matter the most?
