BOSTON — The Red Sox will try to avoid a four-game sweep Thursday when they host the Blue Jays at 4:10 p.m.

Boston (6-7) has scored just four runs combined in the first three games of the series. And it will face a tough righty in Chris Bassitt who has allowed just one run in 12 ⅔ innings over two starts.

But there’s hope. Rafael Devers is 7-for-14 with three homers, two doubles and five RBIs against Bassitt.

Alex Bregman has gone 10-for-26 (.385) with a homer, three doubles and four RBIs against him. Wilyer Abreu is 4-for-10 with a double and two RBIs vs. the righty.

Walker Buehler will start for the Red Sox. He has allowed nine runs in 9 ⅓ innings over two starts.
