Nothing can keep Cody Bellinger from the New York Yankees lineup unless it’s the chicken wings.

The Yankees acquired the superstar outfielder to help offset the loss of Juan Soto. But things have turned pretty ugly.

He missed two of the three games against the Pirates over the weekend due to a stiff back. However, Bellinger returned for the first game of the series against the Tigers on Monday.

Unfortunately, his situation worsened when he experienced food poisoning, reportedly after consuming contaminated chicken wings.

As a result of the food poisoning, Bellinger has been struggling with symptoms, including significant vomiting. Yankees manager Aaron Boone confirmed that Bellinger had been visibly unwell.

After the team confirmed his status, a photo went viral on the internet. In the image, Bellinger looks really tired, and his face has also turned dull due to the adverse effects of food poisoning.

Despite his struggle with the troubled chicken wings, the team has not placed Cody Bellinger on the injured list. The team remains optimistic about his situation.

But the Yankees fans on social media have fancy theories to make about his viral photo.

“Bro looks like he skipped weed and went straight to meth in this photo,” a fan commented.

“did he get beat up by the entire team? what is this pic,” another fan wrote.

“Why this pic make his skin look like shoe leather,” a third fan added.

“Can’t wait for u to turn this into a t shirt somehow,” a fan trolled him.

“I never trusted that creepy BDubs buffalo,” another user wrote.

In Bellinger’s absence, Trent Grisham will take over in center field, continuing to contribute as one of the team’s most productive hitters. The Yankees are looking to maintain their recent offensive momentum as they face the Tigers.
