Over the last two years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the most popular sports franchises in the world. Of course, the fact that they are perennial Super Bowl contenders with one of the best quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes, in the game helps that fact. However, it has been the relationship between tight end Travis Kelce and 14-time Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift that has catapulted the team to even higher levels of recognition.
Ever since Kelce and Swift made their relationship public in September of 2023, Chiefs games have been among the most viewed NFL contests due to her fans tuning in hoping to get a glimpse of the popstar sitting in a private booth.
And the NFL sure has taken advantage of the situation. Whenever Kansas City plays, and Swift is in attendance, the couple is a topic of conversation among the studio analysts and she is sometimes shown on camera during the games.
But that may not be happening as much in 2025.
Taylor Swift May Cut Back on Attending Kansas City Chiefs Games After Travis Kelce Decided Against Retirement

Heading into Super Bowl LIX, many speculated that Kelce would be playing the final game of his NFL career. After all, he is 35 years old, has accomplished just about everything a player at his position can accomplish, and has already won three Super Bowls.
But the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles ignited a fire in him to continue playing, a decision that Swift supports. What is more, the couple’s recent low-profile is the result of their realization that their fame had become a distraction.
Per a report in the Daily Mail (via Yahoo Entertainment), “He wants to be the reason that the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl,” the insider claimed, “Taylor is all about it.”
Furthermore, Kelce wants “keep his head down, play better, train harder, and not allow any unnecessary drama to ruin anything along the way.”
As a result of this development, many speculate that Swift may not attend as many Chiefs games in 2025. Her being there, of course, is not the issue. It is the coverage of her attendance that became a distraction.
After attending nearly every Chiefs game in 2023, Swift only attended a few home games in 2024. Her Eras Tour schedule kept her on the road, oftentimes out of the country, during some games, and her security team felt it was best for her to avoid road games.
