Former MLB pitcher Octavio Dotel, who played for the Mets and Yankees during his 15 seasons, died Tuesday morning, according to reports. Dotel was one of the many victims of the roof collapse at Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was 51.

Dominican outlet Diario Libre and independent reporter Héctor Gómez first reported the news. They said that Dotel was rescued from the rubble and being transferred to a local hospital when he died. According to The Associated Press, at least 44 people are dead and 160 are injured.

Dotel pitched for 13 teams in his career, which began with the Mets, who signed him as a free agent, in 1999. He was traded less than a year later to the Houston Astros, where he spent four-plus seasons. Dotel signed with the Yankees in 2006.

In 951 innings from 1999-2013, Dotel recorded a 3.78 ERA and 109 saves. He won the 2011 World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals.
