Aaron Boone Reveals Major New York Yankees Pitching Injury Update

Aaron Boone thảo luận về danh sách và kế hoạch đội hình trên WFAN - Yankees Hot Stove (28/1/25)

The New York Yankees have started off the 2025 MLB season with a 6-4 record. It hasn’t been a bad start, but it certainly hasn’t been what the Yankees would have liked to produce.

Early on in the year, there have been some injury issues. Of course, Giancarlo Stanton and Gerrit Cole have been unavailable to play due to injury.

Another name that has missed the start of the season is right-handed relief pitcher Ian Hamilton.

Granted, Hamilton does not carry the same recognition as Stanton or Cole. However, he has a chance to be a very key part of the New York bullpen.

While he has been out through the first 10 games, a new update has shared optimism about Hamilton returning in the near future.

According to a report from Greg Joyce of the New York Post, Hamilton is “expected” to be activated off of the injured list on Tuesday.

“Ian Hamilton is also here with the Yankees,” Joyce wrote on X. “The ‘expectation’ is that he will be activated off the IL tomorrow, but Boone said they want to get through today to see where they’re at before making that call.”

Hamilton appeared in 35 games last season for the Yankees, all in a relief role. He compiled an 0-1 record to go along with a 3.82 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP, a 2.9 K/BB ratio, 37.2 innings completed, a save, 11 holds, and one blown save.

If Hamilton is able to make his return this week, he could give New York a nice boost in its bullpen.
