Matthew Stafford is the new highest-earner in NFL history

Having been drafted from the University of California in 2005, Rodgers spent 17 years at Lambeau Field, earning an estimated $305.6m in total.

He then moved to New York to spend two years with the Jets and subsequently took home another $75m.

Until recently, his incredible career salary made him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

However, a Los Angeles Rams player has overtaken him.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is now the highest earner in the league, having made $391.3m so far in his career.

The 37-year-old was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2009 after impressing for the University of Georgia.

He went on to spend 11 years with the Lions before joining the Rams ahead of the 2021 season.

Stafford is now about to enter his fifth season with the Rams and his 17th year in the NFL having recently agreed a new contract.
