Trade Breaking!! 3 free-agent signings Patriots wish they could steal from AFC East rivals

Imagine if the Pats got these free agent signings…

The AFC East has not come up short in the free agency frenzy, but no team has spent money like the New England Patriots have.

Coming into free agency, the Pats had no choice but to spend big in order to build around their rising young quarterback in Drake Maye.

He showed too much promise last year, with very little around him, for New England to not spend some money. There is no question that they went heavy on defense.

Some of their notable signings include DT Milton Williams, CB Carlton Davis, LB Robert Spilane, and OLB Harold Landry.

With these new players coming into New England under Mike Vrabel, no one should be surprised when the Patriots have one of the top defensive units once again.

As for the other side of the ball, up until the Stefon Diggs signing, the Pats didn’t do much on offense.

Most notably, they brought in Mack Hollins from the Bills, OT Morgan Moses from the Jets, and C Garrett Bradbury from the Vikings.

Hopefully they do more to bring in offense as the draft approaches.

The Patriots made some dominating moves in free agency and there is no question that they have made the most upgrades within the division.

However, the other rivals have also made some moves that will help them in 2025 and could be trouble for the Pats.

Which AFC East rival signings should Pats wish they could have?

DE Joey Bosa – Buffalo Bills

The Bills made a big splash during the league’s tampering period by agreeing to a one-year deal with edge rusher Joey Bosa.

His deal is worth $12.6 million and he joins the AFC East after spending the last nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

When Bosa is on the field, he is a major problem.

Bosa has had some injuries that has kept him off the field recently which is a risk that the Bills are taking on. At the same time, having to face Bosa isn’t the ideal situation for Drake Maye and the Pats.

WR Joshua Palmer – Buffalo Bills

Another signing that the Bills made. Wide receiver Joshua Palmer, just like Bosa, is going from the Chargers to the Bills but he was given a three-year deal. He will more than likely take on the Amari Cooper role of creating separation in Buffalo’s offense.

Even though the Pats clearly got the better free agent wide receiver acquisition in Stefon Diggs, Palmer would have been a nice veteran pick for New England to help out Maye.

WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – Miami Dolphins

Finally, not a Bills signing but it is another receiver who is heading to south beach to join the Miami Dolphins. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has spent the last five seasons with the Tennessee Titans and he’s coming off a career year with nine receiving touchdowns.

The Dolphins managed to get themselves a bigger receiver on a very cheap contract even though his production could have earned him a bigger deal.

While Mack Hollins can provide that same kind of impact, Westbrook-Ikhine is a little bit more of an upgrade as far as having a bigger receiver.
