The Green Bay Packers have just a few weeks left to figure out what they want to do in the 2025 NFL Draft. Brian Gutekunst still has some major holes to fill and will have a chance to do so with a new class of young talent.
Among the biggest needs are wide receiver, pass rushing, and another cornerback. Depending on what the Packers choose to do with Jaire Alexander, they may not need a cornerback. If they keep him, the addition of Nate Hobbs in free agency should be enough.
On the other hand, if Alexander does end up parting ways and leaving Green Bay, it would be wise for the front office to try and bring in another player capable of stepping in and playing a role during the 2025 season.
With that in mind, a new prediction has come out that has the Packers landing a huge steal in the second round of the draft.
Green Bay Packers Predicted to Land Huge Second-Round Steal in 2025 Draft
Bill Huber of Green Bay Packers on SI has predicted that the team will land Notre Dame standout cornerback Benjamin Morrison in the second round.
“Notre Dame’s Benjamin Morrison is a big-time playmaker who could thrive in Jeff Hafley’s vision-based defense. He intercepted six passes as a freshman in 2022 and three more in 2023 but missed the second half of 2024 with a hip injury. Sports Info Solutions charged him with a 34 percent catch rate in three seasons.”
Morrison has been widely projected a first round pick throughout most mock drafts to this point in time. However, his stock may be falling at the worst time.
If Green Bay was able to scoop him up in the second round, it would end up being one of the biggest steals in the draft.
Throughout his college career at Notre Dame, Morrison played in 31 total games. He racked up 84 tackles to go along with nine interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and 18 defended passes.
This prediction may be too good to be true, but if it becomes a reality Gutekunst and the Packers will be feeling very good about their secondary.
