A spot on the linebacker depth chart in Foxborough has changed hands.

The New England Patriots signed rookie Andrew Parker Jr. to the practice squad on Monday. To make room on the scout team, the organization announced the release of veteran Joe Giles-Harris.

Parker, 24, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024. The 6-foot, 235-pound inside linebacker was waived leading up to the 53-man roster deadline in August. He began his 55-game collegiate career at the University of Arkansas before transferring to Appalachian State in 2022.

And last fall, the redshirt senior recorded 114 tackles to go with two sacks, two passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Giles-Harris, 27, served as a three-time standard elevation and reached the league limit in November. The 6-foot-2, 234-pound off-ball linebacker totaled three tackles and one quarterback hit through matchups with the New York Jets, Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams.

He saw 17 snaps on defense and 55 snaps on special teams prior to reverting for the final time. Spending all of last season on the practice squad and signing a futures contract in January, Giles-Harris was released as a vested veteran during August’s cutdown.

The 2019 undrafted free agent out of Duke has also been a member of the Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. His career includes 29 tackles, one sack and three starts across 20 games.

In additional movement, offensive lineman Michael Jordan and outside linebacker Keshawn Banks reverted to the practice squad, per the transaction wire. Their third and final standard elevations are in the rearview after taking the field for what became a 25-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Stadium on Sunday.

Jordan, 26, handled six snaps on special teams and reported as eligible on a first-and-goal direct snap to running back Rhamondre Stevenson.

The ensuing touchdown was nullified by a holding penalty against right guard Mike Onwenu. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound Jordan re-signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers last week. Prior to then, he started 11 games at left guard and stayed in for 87.7 percent of the offensive snaps.

The Ohio State product twice served as an elevation before being promoted to the active roster in September. Entering the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2019 draft at No. 136 overall, Jordan’s run includes 67 games and 40 starts. He made additional stops with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.

Banks, 24, again tied for the New England lead with 74 percent of the workload on special teams after logging 93 percent of the workload the weekend prior against the Miami Dolphins.

The back-to-back-to-back elevation debuted in the kicking game midway through November after visiting Foxborough for a workout in September and signing to the practice squad in October. Banks entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Packers in 2023.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound San Diego State product spent his rookie regular season on the Green Bay practice squad and was a playoff elevation for the NFC divisional round. He began 2024 in the UFL ranks with the Michigan Panthers.

The practice squad and active roster remain at capacity as head coach Jerod Mayo’s 3-10 team enters the bye week.
