OKC faced Sugar Land in game two of a three-game series after the Space Cowboys pulled off an improbable four-run comeback with two outs in the ninth the previous evening. This time, the Comets took a commanding lead with a four-run fourth inning and never looked back.
The Space Cowboys scored the only run they would get off starting pitcher Carlos Duran in the first inning on a ground out. The Comets answered back in the second with a pair of runs, highlighted by a two-out, two-run double by Hyeseong Kim.
Kim also had the big hit in the fourth inning, a triple down the right field line that plated two of the four runs scored in the inning.
Meanwhile, Duran, throwing his fastball in the 95-96 mph range, struck out eight batters in 4.1 innings against three hits and four walks. The bullpen kept the scoring to only one more run to close out the game. Eddie Rosario and Ryan Ward both chipped in with three hits each. Dalton Rushing contributed an RBI, and Alex Freeland had two hits and a walk.
Player of the game: Hyeseong Kim – double, triple, two walks, four RBIs.
