MAJOR TWIST: New update shakes up Dak Prescott’s blockbuster trade to the Browns!

Hold your horses, Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns fans. The two teams reportedly aren’t discussing a blockbuster trade involving quarterback Dak Prescott.

Earlier today, popular Cleveland Sports radio host Bruce Drennan reported that the Cowboys and Browns were discussing a Dak Prescott trade. Drennan said this was a reason why defensive end Myles Garrett willingly signed a $160 million extension with Cleveland weeks after requesting a trade.

However, NFL Network’s Jane Slater shut down the rumor, reporting soon after that Dallas is “NOT working on trading Dak to the Browns.” One source told Slater that the rumor is “fake news”, with another saying “absolutely not.”

So make of that as you will.

Dak Prescott signed a four-year contract extension worth $240 million in September, so it’s hard to imagine owner Jerry Jones already wanting to give up on him. Then again, it just takes one can’t-refuse offer for Jones to make a league-altering move like this.

There have been several trade proposals around the internet involving Prescott going to Cleveland, with the No. 2 pick headed to Dallas.

But it doesn’t make sense for the Browns to give up that much capital for a 31-year-old quarterback with a concerning injury history, especially when they could draft a promising prospect like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with the No. 2 selection.

In eight games last season, Prescott completed 64.7 percent of pass attempts for 1,978 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions before suffering a season-ending hamstring injury that required surgery.

It was a letdown of a year for Prescott’s Cowboys, who went 12-5 in each of the previous three seasons with two NFC East division crowns. But seeing how Jones has operated as the GM in Dallas for three decades, it’s impossible to imagine him trading Dak and beginning a rebuild after one bad season.
