The Green Bay Packers have been a playoff team in each of the past two years, despite playing in arguably the NFL’s toughest division.

But to help it get over the hump, the franchise finds itself in the mix for an edge rusher this offseason.

Green Bay owns the No. 23 pick in next month’s draft, though that isn’t the franchise’s only option to procure a pass rusher.

Carolina took calls for the 32-year-old ahead of the 2024 trade deadline, though it ultimately chose to keep him,” Knox wrote.

“The asking price for Clowney this offseason would likely be far lower than a first-round pick, which would leave Green Bay’s top draft choice available to potentially double down at the position.”

The Houston Texans selected Clowney No. 1 overall in the 2014 draft.

He is a three-time Pro Bowler and a former Second-Team All-Pro selection.

Clowney has tallied 108 tackles for loss and 58 sacks over the course of his 11-year NFL career. He put up nine tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks with the Panthers last season.

Clowney, 32 years old, is entering the second season of a two-year, $20 million contract in 2025.
