Back in 1994, the Green Bay Packers selected two running backs in the NFL Draft. One of them, Dorsey Levens, would go on to have a noteworthy career, helping Green Bay win Super Bowl XXXI and earning himself a spot in the Packers Hall of Fame. The other, LeShon Johnson, was not so fortunate.
The Packers used their second pick in the 1994 NFL Draft, a third round selection (84th overall), to select Johnson out of the University of Northern Illinois. He only played a year-and-a-half with Green Bay before heading off to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
In 1998, though, his career was derailed by a cancer diagnosis. While he attempted a comeback in 1999 with the New York Giants, he rarely saw the field for them and was out of the NFL by 2000.
Former Green Bay Packers Running Back LeShon Johnson Has Been Arrested

According to multiple reports, Johnson has just been arrested in what is being called the largest dog fighting sting in the history of the FBI. Per these reports, Johnson had 190 pitbuls that he had bred, raised, or bought for fighting purposes.
Per mlive.com:
“He previously ran ‘Krazyside Kennels’ also out of Oklahoma, which led to his guilty plea on state animal fighting charges in 2004.
“Johnson allegedly selectively bred ‘champion’ and ‘grand champion’ fighting dogs — dogs that have respectively won three or five fights — to produce offspring with fighting traits and abilities desired by him and others for use in dog fights.
“He then allegedly marketed and sold stud rights and offspring from winning fighting dogs to other dog fighters looking to incorporate the Mal Kant Kennels ‘bloodline’ into their own dog fighting operations.
“His trafficking of fighting dogs to other dog fighters across the country contributed to the growth of the dog fighting industry and allowed Johnson to profit financially, prosecutors said.”
Pre the report, all of these details came to light in October of 2024. However, news of his arrest and charges have just become public knowledge now.
