The Green Bay Packers feel to be at a crossroads.
While they’ve made the playoffs in back-to-back years with Jordan Love under center, many feel they are a few pieces away from competing for a Super Bowl.
Signing offensive lineman Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs this off-season were certainly big moves. However, holes still need to be addressed on the roster.
As it turns out, one former third overall pick could solidify an often forgot about position.
Packers Suddenly Named Top Team To Acquire Former 3rd Overall Pick

According to San Francisco 49ers journalist Peter Panacy:
There’s a decent chance quarterback Trey Lance has played his last snap in an NFL regular-season game, potentially even seeing his name on an NFL roster.
That said, a handful of NFL teams might discuss the possibility of exploring Lance as an option, provided there’s a glaring need.
Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are slightly more optimal than the Niners as a possible Lance landing spot despite being committed to quarterback Jordan Love while boasting Malik Willis as a solid No. 2.
Green Bay’s offense under head coach Mike LaFleur isn’t unlike that of Shanahan, which adds to the possibility, while pairing Lance with the Packers’ fourth-year wide receiver, Christian Watson, makes some sense, too.
After all, Watson was a frequent go-to target for Lance back in 2019 when both were playing for North Dakota State.
