One of the Miami Dolphins’ star players has become the subject of trade rumors all offseason. In this proposed deal, that player heads up north to a team needing a true number-one wide receiver. The trade would send five-time All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill and the 224th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the Green Bay Packers. In exchange, the Dolphins would receive two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, and the 198th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Miami has a significant hole at the cornerback two spot. Adding Alexander opposite Jalen Ramsey would be a considerable upgrade. Kader Kohou would assume the nickelback role, making the trio one of the best cornerback units in the NFL. Alexander is coming off back-to-back seasons playing just seven games. In a new environment and as the number two cornerback, the hope would be Alexander could start the whole season.
In losing Hill, the Dolphins add a 25-year-old receiver to the mix in the last year of his deal. Jaylen Waddle, Romeo Doubs, Nick Westbrook-Ikhene, and Malik Washington would make up Miami’s new-look wide receiver room. Doubs has been on a committee in Green Bay and could finally secure a solid role with the Dolphins. Following this move, Miami could also consider wide receivers in the draft.
This move makes a lot of sense for the Packers. It involves removing Alexander and Doubs, both of whom seem unlikely to be on the team in 2026, and acquiring an elite wide receiver the teams have been looking for. Miami would be getting a significant upgrade at their number two cornerback spot and adding a solid receiver opposite Waddle. They would also be moving up 26 spots in the draft, an extra sweetener for Miami to part from Hill.
It’s a massive blockbuster deal that would shake up the NFL. But Miami would be in a much better spot. It would have a young receiver, improved draft capital, and a massive upgrade on defense.
