The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to show interest in 2025 NFL Draft offensive tackle prospect Charles Grant from William & Mary, the alma mater of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
After having a formal meeting with Grant at the 2025 NFL combine, the Steelers continued to show their interest by sending assistant offensive line coach Isaac Williams to his pro day on Thursday.
At the combine, Grant checked in at 6-foot-5, 311 pounds, with 34 3/4-inch arms and 10 1/4-inch hands. At the combine, he only performed the bench press, putting up 19 reps.
In Williamsburg, he reportedly hit 20 reps of 225 pounds and also ran a 5.10-second 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split between 1.76 and 1.80 seconds.
Grant is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia, just across the James River from Tomlin’s hometown of Hampton in the Hampton Roads area. While at Williams & Mary, Grant was twice named a first-team All-CAA tackle and twice named an FCS All-American.
Most NFL Draft projections have Grant moving from left tackle, where he played at the FCS level, to guard in the NFL, which is a common move. He is currently rated as the No. 8 guard in the class and the No. 104 overall player at NFL Mock Draft Database.

Grant accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, but could not attend, so Tomlin and the Steelers weren’t able to talk to him in Mobile, but did catch up with him in Indianapolis. Tomlin also attended Williams & Mary, where he played wide receiver from 1990-94.
The Steelers could be in the market for another offensive lineman or two this offseason, despite using four picks over the first four rounds of the last two draft classes. They did not retain guard James Daniels and fellow guard Isaac Seumalo will be a free agent after the 2025 season, so they could be looking for a future replacement.
The Steelers are also let starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. hit free agency, meaning they will need a swing backup for Troy Fautanu and Broderick Jones.
