Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not made a decision on which team he wants to play for in 2025, or even if he wants to play at all. Following his release from the New York Jets, it was widely believed that he would want to sign with someone instead of having his fate decided by an NFL organization. Over the last several days, three teams have emerged as possible landing spots for the four-time NFL MVP: the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants.
And while he reportedly has an offer on the table from one of these teams, another has informed him that they will not be pursuing him. At least, not right now.
The Minnesota Vikings Are Not Actively Pursuing Former Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers

The Vikings, on of Green Bay’s fiercest rivals, lost Pro Bowl quarterback Sam Darnold to free agency and the Seattle Seahawks. They also lost veteran Daniel Jones to the Indianapolis Colts.
With JJ McCarthy coming off of a torn ACL that cost him his entire rookie season, many believed that Minnesota would bring in a veteran to start while McCarthy continued to learn and grow. And while they still may sign a veteran, they are not considering Rodgers at this point in time:
The #Vikings have rejected multiple trade calls on J.J. McCarthy, telling other teams they’re moving forward with him as their quarterback, sources say.

And while many fans have taken this news to mean that they are absolutely out on the four-time NFL MVP, it should be noted that they have not closed the door on him completely.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic recently posted:
There’s no ‘in’ or ‘out’ on Aaron Rodgers from Minnesota—they’re simply not making a decision at this time.
Now we wait to see what Rodgers wants to do. https://t.co/1h2TCMPLIH

If McCarthy struggles during OTA’s, the Vikings may look into signing Rodgers. That is, if he is still available. Right now, he apparently has the choice of either signing with the Steelers or retiring from the NFL.
The ongoing saga of what Rodgers will do in 2025 continues, but it is clear that, as of right now, he will not be a Viking.
That could change, however.
