The New England Patriots have reportedly agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with former Minnesota Vikings center Garrett Bradbury, including $3.8 million in guaranteed money, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bradbury was a first-round draft pick for the Vikings back in 2019. He started in all 88 games he played in for the team after joining their roster.
This is a timely move for the Patriots after they announced the release of longtime starter David Andrews last week. Andrews went down with a season-ending shoulder injury last year, and his NFL future is currently up in the air.
Bradbury has been deemed a disappointment for the Vikings, but there’s hope that a new situation can bring out the best in the former All-American offensive lineman.
The Patriots needed someone to fill the void left by Andrews’ departure.
Not only does Bradbury serve that purpose, but him being in the mix also keeps Cole Strange at left guard, while right tackle Morgan Moses’ arrival should kick Mike Onwenu back inside at right guard.
Now, the only question remaining along the Patriots’ offensive line is the left tackle position.
