BREAKING NEWS: Steelers sign former Browns safety Juan Thornhill

The Steelers add another defensive back

The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another veteran presence to their defensive backfield. According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, former Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill is signing with the Steelers. Thornhill has missed six games in each of the last two seasons due to injury, but has played well when on the field. He will be a great third safety in the room alongside Minkah Fitzpatrick and DeShon Elliott.

Thornill was originally drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, helping the Chiefs win two Super Bowls in his time in Kansas City. He signed with the Browns ahead of the 2023, helping Cleveland get back to the postseason that season.

The Steelers’ safety room is now all but set, with Fitzpatrick, Elliott, and Thornhill as the three rotational safeties and Miles Killebrew remaining as the special teams ace.
