BREAKING: Cowboys Trade in Draft Predicted to Land Texas Star…

Nobody likes a good trade like Jerry Jones, especially when it comes to accumulating more draft choices.

One NFL writer who covers the team believes Jones will trade his first round pick twice and finally make the team’s first selection at No. 25.

It was also said by K.D. Drummond of Cowboys Wire Dallas was going to use the 25th selection to draft Matthew Golden from Texas.

Golden would give the Cowboys a second speedy target with sure hands to accompany CeeDee Lamb. Lamb needs a partner who will help him she double teams and give teams an alternative to think about.

“Moving back in this way put Dallas in a better position for most of the remaining guys who this GM preferred, though passing on safety Malaki Starks was a tough call,” Drummond wrote.

“Golden is emerging in some ways as the best WR in this class. Dallas took the third wideout back in 2020 and it worked out pretty well with CeeDee Lamb.”

Golden had a good final season in Austin and had an incredible Combine. He accumulated 987 receiving yards in 16 games for the Texas Longhorns last season.

He really showed out at the Combine in Indianapolis as he ran a 4.29 second 40-yard dash. His time was the second fastest of every athlete at the event.

Based on his time, his draft stock went up. Golden is the type of player who would take pressure off of Lamb and spread the defense.

The defense would not be able to just focus on Lamb, they would have two speedy receivers to cover, which would open up the seam routes or leave room in the box for a crafty check down.

Either way, with Golden and Lamb, Dak Prescott becomes a much better quarterback as he has more ammunition to win with.
