Packers linked to potential pursuit of $15 million free agent | Sporting News

Coming into the 2025 NFL offseason, the expectation was that the Green Bay Packers would have a very aggressive approach. That has not been the case to this point in time.

So far, Brian Gutekunst and the front office have signed just two players. They added offensive lineman Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.

While both of those moves should end up being quality additions for the Packers, there is still a lot of work left to be done rounding out the roster.

One of the major needs for the team coming into free agency was adding to the pass rush. Green Bay has been unable to get anything done with the free agent market so far.

That being said, there is still one very intriguing option available for the Packers to pursue should they choose to do so.

Rucker Haringey of FanSided has suggested that Green Bay should pursue New York Giants free agent defensive end Azeez Ojulari.

“The Packers were rumored to be in trade talks with the Giants to land Ojulari last season before he suffered an injury that ended his campaign. It’s easy to foresee a scenario where they go back for him in free agency.”

Ojulari is coming off of a 2024 season with the Giants where he played in 11 games. He compiled 28 total tackles to go along with six sacks and a fumble recovery.

At just 24 years old, Ojulari still has plenty of room to grow and develop his game. It would be a good fit and the Packers would be wise to consider pursuing the option.

Expect to see Green Bay look to make another move or two. The Packers aren’t going to force a signing, but a name like Ojulari could very well fall into their lap.
