COMING SOON: Latest rumors suggest DK Metcalf to Patriots could be a done deal…

Cleveland Browns v Seattle Seahawks

The New England Patriots have the ability to add some playmakers this offseason and it sure sounds like DK Metcalf could be one of those playmakers.

Not only do the Patriots have the draft picks and cap space to bring in Metcalf but Drake Maye is a promising young quarterback that a talented receiver would want to play with.

When taking all of that into consideration, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Daniel Jeremiah said the consensus seems to be that Metcalf will indeed be joining the Patriots for the 2025 season.

While appearing on the Pat McAfee Show on Friday, Jeremiah said, “Everybody in the league thinks that DK Metcalf is going to New England.”

“It just makes too much sense. [The Patriots] have all the money, they have all the space, they have no weapons,” Jeremiah continued. He then points out that the Patriots’ second-round pick is early on in the draft, which makes them an appealing trade candidate for the Seahawks because they can get an early pick in round two.

It sure sounds like DK Metcalf could be catching passes from Drake Maye in 2025

The problem previously was that the Seahawks were reportedly asking for too much from teams interested in acquiring Metcalf.

A first and a third-round pick would be a lot to spend on someone, even a player as good as Metcalf, especially with how much money the Patriots have to spend and the draft picks they have at their disposal.

The good news, however, is that after seeing how little Deebo Samuel went for to the Commanders (a fifth-round pick), Seattle’s asking price should take a hit.

The Patriots would gladly give up a second-rounder to bring in the 27-year-old receiver and hope that he could immediately become the weapon that Drake Maye so desperately needs as he enters a crucial second season.
