BREAKING: New England Patriots players raise over $12,000 for Make-A-Wish at Mashantucket Great Wolf Lodge

MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (WFSB) -Before they even open their doors to the public, the new Great Wolf Lodge in Mashantucket is “making waves” and its all for a great cause!

On Tuesday, the highly anticipated lodge welcomed three New England Patriots players to take part in their “patriot plunge”.

Christian Gonzalez, Keion White and David Andrews raced to ride as many slides as possible in the 92,000 square-foot indoor water park, all to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Embracing the community and giving back are two top priorities for the indoor water park and resort.

“Personally I’m a big Patriots fan so it’s great for me but we have partnered with Make-A-Wish for years, it’s a great organization and we’re really excited to partner with them today!” said Henry Tessman.

The players raced down five slides 28 times in just 30 minutes, and ended up raising $12,250 for Make-A-Wish, helping grant life-changing experiences for children with critical illnesses
