With new head coach Mike Vrabel taking over the New England Patriots, the organization could go in a few ways.
The Patriots are in a great position with young star quarterback Drake Maye and the most cap space in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean they’ll make the right moves.
Unfortunately, the Patriots will attempt to do what they have to do, but at the end of the day, this is the NFL, and a signing or two likely won’t go as planned.
All the Patriots have to do is hope they make the right decisions, and targeting a few players that Vrabel has worked with in the past could help them do just that.
That’s exactly what Sean McGuire of NESN suggested they do, linking the Patriots to Cleveland Browns offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. ”
The 2020 first-round pick underwhelmed over his five seasons with the Browns, which included the 2024 campaign with Vrabel in Cleveland. Injuries played a key factor including a season-ending knee injury in 2023…
This isn’t to say New England should bank on Wills as its surefire starter at left tackle, but more so a value signing who could compete for a starting job,” McGuire wrote.
Wills is an interesting player who hasn’t necessarily lived up to all the hype, but he could be a decent fit for this Patriots team looking for a better offensive line.
If Vrabel believes he could fit on this roster, he wouldn’t be a bad player to add.
He’s a better pass protector than a run blocker, but the Browns are also a dumpster fire. If he were to come to New England and play for an organization that knows how to develop and treat guys right, the fit could be much better.
