The New England Patriots need help at the wide receiver position. This has been written millions of times at this point in articles focused on the team.

However, one option that hasn’t been discussed much, but seems like a realistic option is New York Jets wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams’s former head coach in Las Vegas Josh McDaniels is the current New England offensive coordinator, where Adams had two stellar seasons in 2022 and 2023.

On a Patriots podcast, Greg Bedard went as far as to say Adams and McDaniels, “got along really well.”

The 32-year-old receiver doesn’t quite line up with New England’s current rebuilding timeline, but his veteran presence and talent on the perimeter would help the team immensely in the short term.

The price would be the main holdup, as trading for an older player who still has talent left from a division rival could be too hefty for a young roster in need of improvements across the board.

He would help the development of Drake Maye a lot, but trading away significant draft capital instead of investing in offensive line help for Maye could also prove costly.

As the rumor mill continues to heat up, Patriots fans should be excited about all the potential moves the team can make this offseason.
