Cody Bellinger Reveals What He Sees From The 2025 Yankees

The New York Yankees acquired Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs to start a new era.

Juan Soto is not around anymore, so Aaron Judge will return to right field and Jasson Dominguez will receive a long look in left field.

Bellinger seems genuinely happy so far in camp, taking Dominguez under his wing and having some nice swings in batting practice.

After a recent workout, Bellinger said he sees hunger in the group.

“I think the thing that I see is the want to be good, the desire to be good in each and every one of us. We all want to be excellent. And that goes a long way. We all want to perform at our best capability,” Bellinger said, via Yankees Videos.

To win the World Series, the Yankees know they have to be even better than last year.

Bellinger sees a hungry group of players full of individual and collective goals, with the work ethic to achieve them.

As a lefty hitter taking advantage of Yankee Stadium’s short right-field porch, he has a good chance to enjoy a nice season.

He posted a disappointing .751 OPS with the Cubs last season, but he was at .881 the year before and has proven he can perform at an MVP level.

In New York, he will be surrounded by three former MVP winners like himself: Aaron Judge (2022, 2024), Giancarlo Stanton (2017) and Paul Goldschmidt (2022), plus solid Jazz Chisholm Jr. and promising young hitters Austin Wells and Anthony Volpe.

Everything is in place to enjoy a successful 2025.
