North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson have “discussed marriage” ahead of the 2025 UNC football season, according to a report from Page Six.
The couple, who met in 2021 and began dating a year later, would “definitely get a prenup,” one source told the media outlet.
Belichick, 72, made his red carpet debut with Hudson, 23, in December at the American Museum of Natural History Gala. Previously, the former New England Patriots coach and cheerleader had been seen boating together and hanging out during the fall at a corn maze.
The two shared laughs together earlier this month at the NFL Honors ceremony prior to the Super Bowl after Snoop Dogg joked about their unconventional relationship and age gap.
Cameras cut to Belichick and Hudson, whose jaw dropped as the crowd both laughed and groaned.
“I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time,” Snoop Dogg said. “I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. I remember back when the Chiefs was bad … Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet!”
Hudson, a former Miss Maine USA runner-up, went public with their relationship in June. She wore one of his Super Bowl rings and he wore the others.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest head coaches of all time, Belichick holds the NFL the record of most Super Bowl wins — six — as a head coach, all with the Patriots.
Belichick has the most playoff coaching wins all-time with 31 and ranks third in regular-season coaching wins in the NFL with 302.
After a year away from the NFL, Belichick kicked the tires on potential college interests last fall.
Part of Belichick’s interest in the Tar Heels’ open vacancy this coaching cycle were previous conversations he had with coaches in the ACC and other coaches from the SEC and Big Ten.
Belichick’s father, Steve, worked as an assistant football coach for the Tar Heels from 1953-55, when the ACC was formed as a league.
Bill Belichick lived in Carrboro, N.C., as a child during that period and his father worked out of an assistant coach’s office at Woollen Gymnasium on UNC’s campus.
Belichick jumped at the opportunity to return to the sideline in 2025, especially at a familiar place.
Belichick is in the process of finalizing his first-year coaching staff and has already hired two of his sons in premiere roles.
