Green Bay Packers linked to massive potential trade target | Sporting News

The Green Bay Packers looked like a Super Bowl contender throughout the majority of the 2024 NFL season. Unfortunately, at the end of the year, the team started performing under expectations.

Finishing out the season and heading into the playoffs on a loss at home to the Chicago Bears was a bad look. They ended up being knocked out in the Wild Card round of the postseason by the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Despite not reaching their ultimate goal, the Packers are close. They are a piece or two away from a Super Bowl.

Looking ahead to the upcoming NFL offseason, Green Bay could be one of the more aggressive teams around the league. They could use some wide receiver help, but they also need to improve defensively. Brian Gutekunst and the Packers really need to improve their pass rush.

Of course, speculation has been swirling about Green Bay being a potential trade destination for Myles Garrett. However, there is another name that has been linked as a possible target.

Bleacher Report has suggested that the Packers could be an ideal landing spot for Miami Dolphins pass rusher Bradley Chubb. They even suggested a potential trade that could bring him onboard.

Green Bay Packers Receive: Bradley Chubb, 2026 Seventh-Round Pick

Miami Dolphins Receive: 2026 Sixth-Round Pick

If that is indeed all it would take to acquire Chubb from the Dolphins, Green Bay should jump at the opportunity. Chubb is coming off of a missed season in 2024 due to a knee injury, but throughout his career he has shown an elite ability to get after the quarterback.

In the 73 total games that he has played in the NFL, Chubb has racked up 39.5 sacks and 13 forced fumbles. He put together a strong year for Miami in 2023, playing in 16 games and recording 73 total tackles, 11 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two defended passes.

At 28 years old and turning 29 before the start of the 2025 season, Chubb still has time to turn things around. Landing with the Packers could help him do just that.

Expect to hear a lot of rumors surrounding Green Bay this offseason. The Packers need to get aggressive in their pursuit of a championship. Chubb could be a perfect target to help with that goal.
