The New England Patriots finished their 2024 season with a 4-13 record and fired their head coach for the second time in two seasons.
Their lackluster effort in Jerod Mayo’s lone year with the team landed them near the bottom of the league, and it’s clear that a lot needs to change.
With Mike Vrabel now installed as the team’s head coach and Ryan Cowden joining the front office, the Patriots must surround 2024 first-round pick Drake Maye with talent if they want to find success in 2025 and beyond.

After Sunday’s Super Bowl ended in a 40-22 blowout victory for the Philadelphia Eagles over the back-to-back defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, BetMGM has released their odds for Super Bowl 60.
At this point, the Patriots are currently +12500 to finish the 2025 season with a Lombardi Trophy.
That’s the 26th-best odds of any team in the league, as they’re believed to have a better chance than the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants.
That may be better than expected considering only Tennessee, Cleveland and New York had worse records than the Patriots this past season.
New England is projected to have over $120 million in cap space (via. Over the Cap), and they currently hold the fourth-overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
That puts them in a great spot to add talented players to improve in all three phases by adding veterans in free agency or trades or bringing in rookies through the draft.
